We all know the cost of real estate in the OC and it certainly is not cheap to buy your dream home. How about a palatial spread in Pakistan? Well, that’s a much better deal. Especially if you’re one of the world’s most notorious terrorists and a member of the FBI’s most wanted list. According to just-published reports, the mansion where Osama Bin Laden was ‘hiding out’ is a $1,000,000 compound just outside of town.
As the New York Times reported, “It was hardly the spartan cave in the mountains that many had envisioned as bin Laden’s hiding place. Rather, it was a mansion on the outskirts of the town’s center, set on an imposing hilltop and ringed by 12-foot-high concrete walls topped with barbed wire.” Additionally, American officials believed that the compound, built in 2005, was designed for the specific purpose of hiding bin Laden.
And while the property is valued at $1 million, it did not have a phone or internet connection. Does that mean Osama had the latest iPad to keep him in the terrorist loop?
