How are YOU spending your Independence Day weekend? In South Orange County, there are dozens of fun and patriotic ways to celebrate your July 4th holiday. Whether you will be hanging out with friends or family, Orange Counties cities from San Clemente to Newport Beach have organized celebratory events. Fireworks are illegal in many Orange County towns, but don’t despair: these cities are probably putting on a fireworks show for you and your loved ones to enjoy!

The OC Register has a great list of events by city, listed in alphabetical order. If you want to head to Disneyland (and if the answer is YES! don’t forget to bring lots of water to keep you and your family hydrated this hot holiday weekend!) and check out their amazing fireworks extravaganza, you won’t be alone! Tons of families from Orange County are expected to attend.

Of course, the Orange County beaches promise to be a popular destination spot this July 4th. With temperatures expected in the 80s and 90s, you might want to head to Laguna Beach or Corona del Mar or Dana Point to cool down. If you want to avoid the beach crowds, Mammoth Mountain provides a great escape! Open through the weekend, thanks to lots of winter snow, it might be your last ski / snowboarding opportunity of the season!

Whatever you do this holiday weekend, stay safe! And if you can, thank a member in our armed forces; the brave men and women who continue to fight for our continued independence.
