I would love to invite you to Our Father’s Table special night to celebrate Restoration of life and God’s faithfulness to O.F.T. We will be celebrating the 144 previously homeless brothers and sisters OFT has lifted off the streets and those OFT Care Navigators who are committed to walk the path to restoration with them.

This special night is on October 11th at Rancho Capistrano Winery with a special unveiling of Hyatt Moore’s painting “Homeless Jesus” that was commissioned by OFT founder to honor the work we are called to do.

I encourage you to take this opportunity to learn more about OFT’s unique collaborative partnership spirit in ending homelessness. I would be honored if you joined us in our mission to walk alongside our brothers and sisters experiencing homelessness and help them find restoration by attending or making any type of donation (please contact me to learn more about donating!)

A Christian response to homelessness.

OFT’s mission is to walk alongside our brothers and sisters experiencing chronic homelessness and connect them to services and agencies with the goal of ending their cycle of homelessness and ensuring their journey back to RESTORATION.

OFT is the light at the end of the tunnel!

Our Father’s Table has a solution that breaks the cycle of chronic homelessness, one person at a time. Our work is important because it addresses homelessness at its cause knowing chronic homelessness is a symptom of a deeper-rooted problem. OFT changes lives, by giving a hand up, not a handout! Our work is cost effective and it does not create another program. Our unique approach puts us in the center of their life as a mentor, advocate and most importantly genuine friend giving unconditional love and guidance.

Accountability is the key!

Our work is based on accountability (for one’s own actions), honesty (with us, themselves, the choices they’ve made and the part they’ve played in their homelessness) and an unfiltered reality check (looking at real time choices in front of them to end their life within homelessness). “Tough-love” is the key to our work, the key to unlocking the door that ends their life in chronic homelessness.

For most of the chronic homeless, their OFT Care Navigator will be the only positive adult presence in their lives. A connection with a caring human being, the OFT Care Navigator, not tangible resources alone, is the necessary medicine to pull people out of a sea of negativity, alienation and self-destructive behavior.

Not everyone wants to be saved.

This is a unique attribute of Our Father’s Table work. We are able to identify those who will be or are ready from those who are not. We are not trying to help everyone because tragically not everyone wants to be helped or can be saved. We do not focus our efforts, time and resources on handouts, enabling or triaging the homeless, ultimately perpetuating someone’s life in chronic homelessness. We are not satisfied with just “bringing hope” to our homeless. We would rather bring real change and end their cycle of chronic homelessness. Why bring hope when you can bring real change? Why put a Band-Aid when you can heal the wound?
