As a Legislative Liason, I will be kept up-to-date on the latest legislative and political issues affecting REALTORS® and consumers in my community.
C.A.R.’s Governmental Affairs Department represents your interests before state, federal and local government, and works to:
- Protect REALTORS® from unnecessary lawsuits
- Fight the expansion of the sales tax to real estate services
- Defend private property rights and local control over land use decisions
- Safeguard against costly point-of-sale retrofit requirements
- Preserve the mortgage interest deduction
Why Is This Important For You?
It is extremely important that legislators hear from the REALTORS® in their district, nothing can change the mind of a lawmaker as much as hearing from the people they work for: the voters. When C.A.R. needs a REALTOR® to call the legislator, I will get a Red Alert with instructions on how I can easily respond and make all our voice’s heard.
