Coto de Caza Community Information
Located adjacent to the Saddleback Mountains, Coto de Caza is a magnificent 5,000 acre private guard-gated community in South Orange County. Miles of unspoiled natural beauty abound in this community making it one of the most prestigious master-planned communities in the United States. Many of the community’s houses are custom built. Some have views of the valley or the community’s golf courses. Three different homeowners associations govern the community: CZ Master Association with 3,474 homes; Coto de Caza Community Association (‘The Village’, Coto’s oldest), with 428 homes; and Los Ranchos Estates, with 75 custom homes and lots. Schools and Community: Nearby public schools include Tesoro High School, Wagon Wheel Elementary School and Las Flores Intermediate School. Inside the gates is Merryhill private school, servicing pre-school through second grade. In nearby Rancho Santa Margarita is Santa Margarita Catholic High School, a private school that is competitive in nearly all high school sports.
Recreation: The Coto de Caza Golf and Racquet Club offers golf, tennis, swimming and a restaurant for its members. The Coto Valley Sports Club in The Village features tennis, swimming and a wooden-floor basketball court. Gentile’s, a public restaurant, is located at the Sports Club.
